Role Description: Systems Integration and User Acceptance Testing of credit card application and customer management systems. Testing of application capture, decisioning and account management software using a number of linked systems including web-based front ends, a Chordiant mid-range customer relationship management (CRM) system and a COBOL Certegy mainframe system. Tools used include Mercury Test Director 8.0 for test planning, execution and defect management; Mercury Winrunner 8.2 for creation of new test accounts and/or updates to existing test accounts; and Quest TOAD 7.6 for executing SQL queries on test data held on an Oracle database.
Projects to date include UAT of a new credit card application system developed by Experian, which has reduced maintenance costs by an estimated £1m and reduced losses by £3m due to a better decisioning process. Additionally, SIT test execution and UAT test planning on a project to enable real-time updates of customer information from a central system to multiple interfacing systems; and most recently, SIT and UAT test planning and execution on a project to bring current insurance sales procedures in line with new FSA regulations.

in a Unix environment with Oracle RDBMSs. Tools used include TOAD 7.2 for database
querying and data manipulation; Mercury Test Director 7.6 for test planning
and execution, and Rational Clear Quest for raising, tracking and verifying
defects and enhancements. Maintenance of own test environment using Unix, mainly
centred around database administration. Creation of detailed test data and use
of XMLSPY to edit test files. Production of high quality documentation within
a formal test strategy.

Fast-track, high-pressure environment. Full responsibility for product testing

systems. Wide spectrum of test activities, ranging from UI testing to back-end

Role Description: Senior tester in the Quality Assurance
department for a new- media company, delivering e-learning to the financial
sector. System testing of complex systems to deliver online multimedia courses
and event tracking, with dynamically generated reports. Other projects included
testing and deploying the web portal; an intranet-based learning solution and
rendering software for compiling media-rich online content. Managing a team
of 6-8 content testers, plus leading small, project-specific test teams. Development
and documentation of test processes and procedures (such as test script templates
and test environment maintenance and planning). Training received includes ISEB
software testing certificate and QBit Test Management course, plus in-house
training programmes.
